Leaving the aprons at home

Leaving the aprons and spatulas at home, women have been making a huge breakthrough in the workforce. This is all began to start happening during both World Wars. When the men were away at war somebody had to fill in the jobs, it was left to the women. Though when the men came back from war they expected the women to easily give up their jobs and go back to being a common house wife. Some did not agree with this, including men, they had begun to see that women had more potential outside the home than they were given credit for. Women were given a chance, a very small and unequal chance, but enough of a chance to make a difference.

  1. That one movie with Tom Hanks in it is a great example of what you are saying. When the men were gone, all of the girls learned to love baseball. Then they were just expected to drop everything they were doing and go cook their husband a meal because that's what society says they have to do. I don't think so! Without women, much like the crew in a play, the whole show would fail!

  2. I agree with you completely on this topic Taylor! Women have become very strong and have gained so much more respect than before. Also, when you look at how many chances women get to gain respect and show people how strong women are than just their cooking skills, compared to the amount of chances men get, women out do men in my perspective. Not trying to be sexist, just stating my opinion. However, I really enjoyed reading this blog and the way you came across this subject.

  3. I agree that women have the right to work in the same roles as men. Women should have the freedom to choose their own career path. I am glad that women stepped up to do the men’s jobs during the war. When the men where not present during the war, the women did a great job leading the country while the men were defending our nation. As a result of the war, women are working in every job alongside men.
